Inman Aligners and Six (6) Month Smiles

Given the amount of dentists offering braces or aligners, choosing which practice to use for your orthodontic treatment is difficult. In addition to the number of options already available to patients, over the past few months Inman Aligners and "Six Month Smiles" have been marketed heavily by General Dental Practitioners, these offer patients a fast and competitively priced solution to improve the alignment of their front teeth. Unfortunately most of these dentists have only been on a one or two day course to become "certified" to provide these braces and are therefore likely to describe conventional braces in a negative way due to their lack of knowledge and not having gone through the higher level training to provide these solutions.

What are Six (6) Month Smiles and Inman Aligners?

6 Month Smiles is a proprietary name given to clear fixed braces stuck to the front teeth to line these up. There is no correction of the current bite or positions of the back teeth.

Inman Aligners are bulky removable braces which can be difficult for adults to tolerate, especially as they often make adults lisp.

Although, as with most specialist orthodontists, we can offer these types of treatment, we also offer a number of more effective treatment solutions, such as less bulky and completely invisible braces.

There is a place for both of the above types of treatment, and specialist orthodontists are best placed to advise when and where they should be used. This is because they have the benefit of experience and training to detail the pros and cons (without any bias) of a variety of treatments, allowing you to make the best decision for you.
