Do I need clear fixed braces?

Clear fixed brace offer alignment and straightening benefits coupled with an amazing discreet design. Simply realigning your teeth can make a huge difference to your smile – listen to Park Lane’s Ben Buffham talk about patient treatments with before and after shots of their teeth here.

The treatment can address a number of orthodontic issues such as crowding, spacing and misaligned teeth. Clear fixed braces can also help to tackle overbites and underbites as well as crossbites (when some of your upper teeth bite inside your lower teeth).

Clear fixed braces have translucent brackets enabling them to blend in with your natural tooth colour. A more recent development in their design is the adoption of tooth-coloured wires, adding to the aesthetic of the brace. They are lightweight and comfortable, designed to be minimally invasive.

  • Discreet.
  • Affordable.
  • Clear fixed braces do not stain, so your teeth will remain looking good throughout the treatment period.
  • An ever-evolving treatment – clear fixed braces continue to improve their function and aesthetic, the most recent development being the introduction of tooth-coloured wires.

How will my braces be fitted?

Each bracket is individually fitted to each tooth and the archwire passed through each one and then secured with a clear elastic. You will need to attend check-ups every 8-12 weeks so that we can closely monitor your progress and change the elastics or wires. You can read more about the fitting process here.

Looking after your clear fixed braces

You should avoid sticky foods, foods that are difficult to break down and fizzy drinks as these could jeopardise your treatment and your dental hygiene as they can become easily lodged in your brace and cause a build up of bacteria. Your orthodontist here at Park Lane can advise you on how to keep your teeth clean during treatment. Once the brace-wearing period is complete you will need to wear a retainer

How long does treatment take?

The average treatment time is between 18-24 months.

Spread the cost of your treatment over a period of months….

We’re always seeking ways to make our patients’ lives as easy as possible, so Park Lane are now offering patients the option of spreading the cost of their treatment over several months via a direct debit payment, unconnected to 3rd parties.
