Times are changing \u2013 1 in 5 patients receiving orthodontic treatment is now an adult and in the US the number of adults seeking braces increased by 37% between 1994 and 2004 according to the American Association of Orthodontists.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a time when braces for adults was seen with the label \u2018metal mouth\u2019, putting off a lot of patients who actually really do require treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An incorrect bite can cause chronic headaches and crooked teeth make dental hygiene more difficult as they are harder to clean. In 2017, more adults are prepared to invest their time and money on removing these complications and the associated consequences from their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are now less conspicuous brace options available, which is a significant factor in the rise of adults seeking orthodontic treatment. The brace options of today can also tackle certain issues in less time than ever before, for example clear fixed braces can straighten your front teeth in as little as six months, an attractive prospect for working adults and self conscious professionals who may have client-facing roles.
