We have to care for the people we are treating, and they need to trust us to do the best for them.
Fundamental to that is building a relationship with them. Treating them as an individual, listening to their concerns, presenting them with all the information necessary to make the right decisions about their treatment are important aspects of the journey they take with us. You have to give patients your time: time to answer questions; time to go the extra mile; time for a chat and a cup of coffee.
