Lingual braces are a discrete tooth straightening treatment that is fitted to the tongue side of the teeth.
- Discreet – as they sit on the tongue side of your teeth, they are virtually invisible to others – you are the only person who will know they are there!
- Custom made – lingual braces are made from exact impressions of your teeth. Your orthodontist here at Park Lane will take scans or moulds of your teeth, which will then be sent away to the lab where your brace and hardware can be made up, with your tooth structure as a basis for design and an exact fit.
- Feel comfortable in your skin – if you are worried about undergoing orthodontic treatment because you do not wish your appearance to change as you feel you may be self-conscious, lingual braces are a great choice. You need not worry about that presentation or that client meeting if you are particularly anxious about the way you look, because your smile will look brace-free during the treatment period.
What is the process behind getting lingual braces?
You will need to attend an initial consultation so that your orthodontist can decide if this is the best treatment course for you. Once this has been confirmed, a bespoke treatment plan can be drawn up to suit you. Following this, your orthodontist can take scans or moulds of your teeth, so that the brace can be created to an exact fit of your teeth, and the brace hardware (brackets and archwires) can also be an ideal fit. Once these digital impressions have been taken, your brace can be made up and fitted. Following this you will need to attend follow-up appointments so that your progress can be tracked. Our team at Park Lane are supportive and take the treatment period very seriously, providing the highest level of care.
Once treatment is complete, you will need to wear a retainer to prevent teeth from drifting backing into their original position.
