Are you considering undergoing orthodontic treatment but aren’t sure of your options? Below is a round-up of the braces treatments we offer at Park Lane, so you can compare and examine which might best suit you and read about the benefits of each.
Invisalign

Invisalign is a state-of-the-art treatment used to realign teeth and deal with crowding and spacing issues. It is a removable treatment in the form of clear aligners, which is incidentally why it is considered an ‘invisible’ treatment.
Invisalign is renowned for being considerable less invasive than other brace types and this is principally down to the fact that it is a removable mode of treatment. Patients are able to remove their braces to eat and to clean them, though are required to wear them for at least 22 hours of each day for the treatment to be a success. With these points in mind, you can carry on enjoying the foods you love and you can still do that presentation at work without your speech being compromised.
Invisalign is a custom treatment: the aligners are created with your exact tooth structure in mind which makes them comfortable to wear.
Incognito

Another fully customised treatment, Incognito is a great choice for patients who are conscious about their appearance changing during the treatment period. Park Lane patients who have chosen Incognito braces have reported back that the braces are very easy to get used to and comfortable as well as virtually invisible (hence ‘Incognito’).
Incognito are fitted to the tongue side of the teeth which is what renders them ‘invisible’ to others. This fact also means that they do not damage your tooth surface which can sometimes occur with traditional metal brace types. Incognito makes your smile look great during the treatment period as well as after afterwards.
2D braces

Similarly to Incognito, 2D braces are fitted to the tongue side of your teeth but integrate a smaller hardware system with smooth, rounded edges which makes the brace more comfortable and less invasive to your speech.
They differ with the Incognito system in the following way: as we do not need to take impressions of your teeth, they can be fitted straight away and are used for less complex orthodontic issues. No impressions means no lab costs, making this a cost-effective option for patients.
Braces can sometimes become damaged and in the case of custom-made braces, any parts that break have to be made up in the lab again, placing a delay on treatment. 2D braces are not custom, so you don’t have to worry about the hassle of waiting if your brace becomes damaged. We will have spare parts for you at the practice if this occurs – no need to wait for production and delivery.
Treatment and finance
We’re always seeking ways to make our patients’ lives as easy as possible, so Park Lane are now offering patients the option of spreading the cost of their treatment over several months via a direct debit payment, unconnected to 3rd parties.
