Park Lane

Going forwards I’d like to use the blogs as a way for people to find the right kind of advice and information for people considering teeth straightening treatment for themselves or their children.

Generally speaking, anyone can have orthodontic braces. You can correct very minor irregularities of the teeth, all the way up to; major bite corrections, reduction of prominent upper teeth, or deep bites. The outcome you want, or the problem you have, will dictate the type of orthodontic treatment best for you.

What you need to decide before you shop around for treatment:

I think if you have a clear idea of these things, it will help you decide what treatment is best for you.

By all means be guided by the person who is doing your dental treatment but don’t let their prejudices dictate. What I mean is don’t let someone push you into a particular type of treatment because they don’t know how to do anything else. Even if you don’t want fixed braces, an opinion from a specialist orthodontist will be based on training in all areas of tooth alignment, as well as experience in treating a wide variety of orthodontic problems and hence will give you advice on what treatment will work best for your problem. If you then choose to shop around, then at least you have the right knowledge to help you choose who to trust with your treatment and care, and what outcome each of the solutions will achieve.

Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
