The team at Park Lane Orthodontics are experts across a range of children’s orthodontic treatments. Take a look at the options below to find out about the bespoke treatments we offer.
Removable plastic braces
Early orthodontic treatment can be introduced if your child is between aged 9-12, using a plastic removable brace. This type of brace is designed to be worn day and night, gradually re-aligning your child’s teeth with gentle pressure, making more room for their adult teeth to grow. Your child’s bite is also significantly developing at this time, so the brace can also benefit this and its evolution.
Their clear-appearance plastic material makes them discreet to onlookers, so your child is much less likely to suffer from bullying at the hands of other children due to dramatic changes in their appearance.
Introducing plastic braces early in your child’s life will help lay the foundations for future treatments as well as avoid the need to extract adult teeth later down the line.
Functional braces

Functional braces are specifically designed to tackle teeth that protrude or stick out at the top.
Functional braces are worn day and night on either the top and bottom set of teeth. They work by comfortably and effectively guiding your child’s teeth and bite into a desired position.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign Teen aligners are an increasingly popular choice for younger patients aged between 11-18 here at Park Lane.
These type of aligners are transparent and therefore a more discreet choice of orthodontic appliance for your child. The aligners are designed to be worn for 22 hours a day and include a build-in indicator to show how long they’re being worn to ensure they have time to move your child’s teeth effectively.
Fixed metal or clear cosmetic braces
Still a very popular choice for the treatment of teens and young adults they have a long history of success for the full range of orthodontic problems.
Fixed metal braces
Fixed braces are usually the best option once your childs’ adult teeth have all emerged. Applying pressure over a period of 18-24 months, fixed braces are placed over your child’s teeth and align them into a desired position.
We have found that one of the must popular options with young patients are the fixed braces that include coloured bands, allowing children to choose which colours they would like. We find this can also be a great incentive for children and encourage them to have braces treatment!
Invisalign
Slightly older patients such as children in their early teens, may be self-conscious about their treatment and therefore more cosmetic
