Are you thinking of undergoing orthodontic treatment but anxious about your appearance during treatment? Invisalign aligners are clear aligners that go virtually unnoticed by others and boast several other advantages over traditional metal brace designs.
Benefits of Invisalign braces
- Clear aligners that cannot be easily seen by others.
- Removable, so you can continue enjoying the foods you like.
- Comfort-focused. No sharp brackets and arch wires.
- Invisalign technology gently moves your teeth into a desired position.
- Keeping your teeth healthy and clean is much easier than with fixed brace methods.
The process behind Invisalign
You will need to attend an initial consultation so that a treatment plan can be drawn up. You will have the opportunity to talk through the stages of treatment with your orthodontist here at Park Lane and the plan will be bespoke to suit your needs.
Following this, x-rays and scan of your teeth will be taken so that a 3D image can be created. These images allow your orthodontist to create a treatment plan that includes knowing the movements that your teeth will go through and how long treatment will take.
Using your bespoke treatment plan and scan of your teeth, your aligners will be created from a cBPA-free plastic designed not to cause discomfort to your gums and cheeks as with traditional metal brace models. You will need to wear your aligners for 22 hours each day and be regimental about this otherwise the treatment will not yield the success you hoped for. You will need to replace your aligners every 2 weeks and your progress will be monitored at check-ups with us here at Park Lane approximately every 6 weeks.
Post-treatment
You will need to wear a retainer after you complete braces treatment to prevent your teeth from immediately shifting out of position. This is an essential part of treatment and should not be neglected – many people do not observe how essential this part of treatment is.
